"This fall, we have been repeatedly informed vaccination is the best form of protection, but repeated requests for mandated vaccination remain on the shelf; faculty decision-making on how best to deliver classes for the safety of all has been removed."
Previously, a union representing about 2,600 technical service employees was exempt from Penn State's new indoor masking mandate.
Senators said Penn State's implemented measures fall short of expectations and don't "embody a sense of safety and confidence" among faculty, staff, and students.
The sentence now calls for Spanier to serve two months of home confinement and complete 200 hours of community service.
The renewed calls for vaccine requirements come as the more transmissible delta variant spreads across the country.
