
Pennsylvania residents interested in attending Penn State Dickinson School of Law got some incredible news this morning. The university announced a new grant program -- called the Commonwealth Scholars program -- which will provide in-state students a $20,000 renewable grant to attend Penn State Law.

The Board of Trustees met Friday afternoon for its regular session, and while it wasn't quite as headline-inducing as the morning briefing with Sen. Mitchell, there were still a few important takeaways to consider.

Holly Gregory of Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP, a law firm based in New York City, is the governance consultant the Committee on Governance and Long-Range Planning will be recommending for approval from the full board Friday. The committee voted last Friday to recommend her with a 7-2 vote, with committee members Anthony Lubrano and Barbara Doran voting against.

The Penn State culture survey -- the survey given out to university faculty and staff to determine exactly what Penn State culture is -- will have a preliminary report ready fairly soon.
