
Penn State can add another accomplishment to its winning traditions by becoming the first university ever to have alumni overseeing the course facilities for all three U.S. major golf tournaments; the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship and the Masters.

Don't panic. There's still time (but not much) to vote for your favorite candidate for Alumni Council, which governs the Penn State Alumni Association.
Alumni Association members have until May 31 to cast their ballots, and winners will be announced on June 1. The top vote-getters will claim 10 out of 86 seats on the council.

Penn State's Advance Vehicle Team took home an impressive first place overall finish in this year's EcoCAR 2 Competition among 15 universities last week in San Diego. EcoCAR is a competition which involves teams altering a donated Chevy Malibu to make it more environmentally friendly and increase gas mileage, decrease emissions, and maintain consumer acceptability.

Julieanne Siller, a 17-year old high school student scheduled to attend Penn State Altoona in the fall was stabbed and murdered by her boyfriend, 16-year old Tristan Stahley, over the weekend according to a CBS Philly Report. The incident allegedly occurred in Palmer Park Saturday night following an argument at Stahley's house on Rittenhouse Lane in Skippack Township, located in Montgomery County, Pa outside of Philadelphia. Per the CBS Report, authorities say the couple continued fighting in the park. Stahley stabbed Siller in the throat and kept stabbing her before dragging her body into a wooden area.

Penn State will join a group of 61 prestigious universities in 13 countries today with the commencement of it's first Massive Open Online Course -- that's MOOC for short.
