
With the alumni Board of Trustees campaigns in full swing, Onward State will be releasing short profiles of each candidate. Today, during the third installment of our four-part series, we look at candidates 41-60.

Last night the hashtag #PrayingForEm exploded on Twitter showing an overwhelming amount of support for THON child Emily Whitehead who is currently fighting leukemia. Check out how it happened after the jump.

Pennsylvania. The most important state in the United States. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed within its borders. Three cities (Philadelphia, York and Lancaster) can proudly declare that they were the nation’s capital at some point in our country’s history. The turning point of the Civil War was fought at the Battle of Gettysburg.

With the alumni Board of Trustees campaigns in full swing, Onward State has been releasing short profiles of each candidate. Each profile will include a very brief bio with links to their mission statement, website, Facebook page, and Twitter if available. Today we look at candidates 21-40.

It was a sad day last month when Penn State was forced to cut down one of the majestic elm trees in front of Old Main. The tree, which had cast a shadow over Old Main for nearly 80 years, was infected by Elm yellows disease -- a disease that has claimed nearly a quarter of Penn State's elms over the last five years.

While some Penn State students may choose to spend their April 20th doing activities that might not exactly be school-sanctioned, Earth Day celebrations will be celebrated all over campus today. A number of campus organizations are hosting myriad sustainably minded activities for students to attend.
