Earlier this afternoon, Fight on State (@FightOnState) released a column written by Joe Paterno in "late December or early January" that addresses the Sandusky situation. The column was sent to former Penn State football players this morning, and touts Penn State's tradition of academic and athletic excellence, regardless of what may have occurred internally with the Sandusky scandal.

The Jerry Sandusky trial has been over for a couple weeks now, but one of his attorneys is still making the news. Karl Rominger, Sandusky's co-counsel, has become well known for his off-the-wall Twitter comments. He smokes fat cigars, drinks with college kids at Zeno's, and just generally has an attitude that people who represent serial pedophiles wouldn't normally have.

We cannot let whatever information that is inside this report change what it means to be a Penn Stater. In November, a few thousand rowdy students decided the national fate of the entire student population. We all know how unnecessary the November riot was, and what it did to Penn State through the media's eyes. It showed hundreds of irresponsible, outraged, and irrational students seeking some sort of revenge against something they could not change.

Following the announcement that the Freeh investigative report will be released on Thursday, a lawyer representing the Paterno family released a statement.

After much speculation over the weekend, Judge Louis Freeh announced that his investigative report into Penn State's actions surrounding the Jerry Sandusky scandal will be released this Thursday.

There will be another "Blue Out" during the September 22nd game against Temple. Stuart Shapiro and Laura March, creators of last year’s Blue Out during the Nebraska game, have partnered with One Heart and the Penn State Athletic Department to create an annual “Blue Out” game to continue the fight against child sexual abuse.
