
With THON weekend only 17 days away, it's extremely rewarding to look back on the months of planning that have paved this road. This video, created by Special Events Captain DJ Broccoli, was first shown Thursday night at the Road to THON Celebration and showcases events such as Harvest Day, THON Dodgeball, the THON 5K and Family Carnival. THON supporters have been tweeting up a storm lately nominating the philanthropy for a Shorty Award in the charity category. Currently The Trevor Project is in first place with over 1450 votes, whereas THON is quickly making its way up the list, moving from 13th to 6th place in less than a day.

Now that THON is only 33 days away, events raising money and awareness For The Kids are in full swing! Here at Onward State we are going to try our best to keep you up to date and in the loop with everything so you don't miss out!

In canning weekends past, THON organizations have been prohibited from canning within Pittsburgh city limits. However, this Saturday, January 22, canister solicitations will be permitted in the city.
Pittsburgh law only allows charitable organizations to solicit funds on one day of a calendar year. Saturday marks the only opportunity for canning trips to fundraise within the city for the 2011 year. Check out the full scoop after the jump.
