It was the end of an era this past Wednesday night as UPUA president-elect TJ Bard was sworn into office, becoming the figurehead of the student government's Sixth Assembly. Former president Christian Ragland's "reign" over University Park's students had come to an end, and with that, so did his hold on the @studentbodyprez Twitter account (which is now in a state of technical flux).
The Council of Commonwealth Student Governments held its third council weekend of the semester in the University Park HUB-Robeson Center.

This week's Friday Alternatives map the progression of established names in the rock circuit from the noise we've come to know and love to a new mature style. For some, the changes are striking. Bands have completely reinvented themselves as artists, seeking a change from the monotony of topping charts. While others have reverted back to a more comfortable style that they saw slipping away during their growing process.

Us New Yorkers, we're familiar with the legendary gyro cart known only by it's location--53rd and 6th. Hell, the place has its own Wikipedia page. Needless to say, it sets the bar for street food everywhere. Someday, Sunny Shakhawala hopes that State Platters reaches that lofty plateau.
A labor of love. That's what last night's production of Jesus Christ Superstar by the Penn State Thespians proved to be. With three freshmen leading the cast, it would be easy to skip out on this show. And that would be a mistake.
