Calling all Penn State ladies: the Penn State Marketing Association (PSMA) powderpuff football tournament has almost arrived! If you're not doing anything this Saturday afternoon, grab a few friends and get ready to take the field. The event, which will be raising money to benefit the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania in honor of Joe Paterno, will be taking place at 1p.m. in the multisport complex behind the BJC.

Penn State separates its football program from all other college football teams through one thing: tradition. Tradition has defined our football culture for years, and whenever someone threatens the status quo, the fans push back. If fans are truly passionate about the traditions of Nittany Lions football, then they must not change the name of their arena. Beaver Stadium should not include Paterno Field.

Last week, OneSchool announced that it was releasing an updated version of its app, which it did on Tuesday. I have spent the past week testing the new version, seeing how beneficial this app would be for Penn State students. I was fortunate enough to have also downloaded it before the update, and can safely say that the app made major improvement. However, these upgrades fail to convince me that OneSchool is worth the memory on your smartphone. I reviewed the nine features that OneSchool bundles, and I am dissatisfied with the experience that I had.

The funeral arrangements for Joe Paterno have been announced, including viewings at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center and a public service at the Bryce Jordan Center.

In a release made by his family to the Associated Press this morning, Joe Paterno's death was confirmed. He was 85.

On Saturday night in front of a national primetime audience the New England Patriots, with new Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien running the offense, will take on the Denver Broncos in the Divisional round of the NFL Playoffs. There are many reasons Penn State fans should root against the Patriots.
