The results of the alumni Board of Trustees election, announced last Friday at the monthly meeting in the Nittany Lion Inn, were anything but surprising.
Former Penn State football player Adam Taliaferro, widely seen as the front-runner throughout the campaign, predictably garnered 15,629 votes, appearing on just under 42% of the ballots. The always-outspoken Anthony Lubrano wasn't far behind with 10,096 votes, and the third and final winner, retired Navy SEAL Ryan McCombie, finished with 4,806 votes.
So what does this mean for Penn State?

Head coach Bill O'Brien is not sure who his starting quarterback is right now and may not know for a few months; however, if the decision was up to the fans, Paul Jones would already have a stranglehold on the job.

Bill O'Brien was hired as the new head coach of the Penn State football program two months and 23 days ago to the tune of disappointment and disdain from fans, students, and alumni. In the time that has passed since then, he's put together one of the strongest recruiting classes that the team has seen in years and has quickly endeared himself to the State College community, forcing the haters to eat their words.
