As announced today, Penn State ranked 39th among universities worldwide in the fourth annual Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings. This is the first time Penn State has ranked in the Top 50 for this particular invitation-only survey. Institutions from 133 countries were surveyed, making it the world's largest of its kind.
U.S. News rated Penn State as the highest national university that offers rolling admissions, according to data reported by 270 ranked schools in a survey. Of those 270 schools, 79 offer rolling admissions.
U.S. New & World Report ranked Penn State 37th nationally and 8th among public schools on the 2014 list.
The Wall Street Journal's magazine SmartMoney released rankings of return on investment at some of the country's most expensive colleges. The magazine analyzed tuition over four years as well as median salaries for recent graduates (graduates from 3 years ago) and mid-career graduates (graduates from 15 years ago). Penn State ranks 13th in their model, above the entire Ivy League.
