Let's be honest, how many of us came to Penn State because of sports? Well, okay, maybe it was just football, but we've learned to love the rest of the teams too. And yet, baseball largely remains a hidden gem in the Penn State sports landscape.
Even though it just seems as THON 2011 has just ended, it is already time to start preparing for THON 2012. The Overall Committee was announced last week. Check out the full list after the jump.
THON 2012 officially starts today. Elaine Tanella, THON 2011 Communications Overall, was named the THON 2012 Overall Chairperson last night. Her term starts immediately with her first responsibility being selecting the rest of the Overall Committee. Overall Committee applications are due on March 25th and the committee will be announced on March 31st.
The members of the THON Overall Committee are some of the most recognizable people on campus. The 14-person committee is in charge of managing the largest student run philanthropy in the world. Each year the new committee is selected by the THON Overall Chairperson (to be announced soon) and THON's adviser, Barry Bram. The positions are open to anyone, though preference is given to those previously involved in THON, usually at the Captain level. Applications are due Friday March 25th. Candidates will be notified if they receive an interview on the 26th, with interviews running from the 27th through the 30th. The committee should be announced the 30th or the 31st.
