College Republicans Announce Truth Week 2014 Lineup

The Penn State College Republicans announced the lineup yesterday for their fourth annual Truth Week from Monday, Oct. 13 to Wednesday, Oct. 15. The week looks to foster conversation about important political topics, bringing conservative speakers to Penn State.

Started in 2011, Truth Week has included speakers like Ann Coulter, Herman Cain, and John Stossel. The week has also included an NRA-U session, educating students about the NRA and its opportunities for college students, as well as general gun and second amendment education.

Here’s the lineup for the 2014 iteration:

  • Monday, Oct. 13: Lawrence Reed, President of the Foundation for Economic Education. Reed, who is also a historian and author, plans to give a speech entitled “Adam Smith and the Birth of Economics” at 7 p.m. in 101 Osmond.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 14: Jonah Goldberg, nationally syndicated columnist. Goldberg will speak about his book “Liberal Fascism” in 102 Thomas at 7 p.m. Goldberg has previously appeared on “The Daily Show,” “The Glenn Beck Program,” and “Good Morning America.”
  • Wednesday, Oct. 15: Former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano, who will speak on government expansion and its potential threats to civil liberties. The current Fox News political and judicial analyst will wrap up Truth Week at 7 p.m. in 10 Sparks.

As always, all of the events are free and open to anyone.

About the Author

Mike Reisman

is a senior Supply Chain Management major with an Economics minor (Read: Business Douche) from South Jersey. He has an intense fear of graduating so please don't bring it up. He writes about stupid things nobody cares about, and student life if the site is low on content that is clearly supposed be funny but is really very unfunny. He is lovingly (?) known around the staff as Baby Mike which may or may not be because he has a child (hint: it’s not). He’s also a second generation Penn Stater who has been wearing Penn State sweatshirts since before he was two, a habit he hasn’t grown out of.
