Movin’ On 2009: Overview of the Battle Winners

In order to prepare for Movin’ On 2009, Onward State has prepared a primer on the different bands that will be performing. This post includes all of the winners of the Movin’ On Battle of the Bands, as previously written about. Be sure to check out Onward State later tonight as we bring you an overview of the main acts.

Band Name: Acalasia
Hometown: Altoona, Pennsylvania
Members: Krystal Shore (Vocals), Neil Deyarmin (Guitar), Stephen Wells (Bass), Ryan Sheehan (Guitar), Cory Aboud (Drums)
Sounds Like: A cooler, less mainstream version of Paramore.
Time Playing: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM

Band Name: Atlas Soundtrack
Hometown: State College, PA
Members: Drew (MC), Mani (MC), Matt (Guitar/Vocals), Kenny (Bass), Kyle (Percussion/Turntables), Josh (Drums), Steve (Keys)
Sounds Like: The Roots and NERD have a child, and Bob Marley delivers the baby
Time Playing: 1:00-1:45

Band Name: So Long, Pluto
Hometown: Scranton,Pa
Members: Chet Williams, Joe Kincel, Matt Murphy, Dan Dalrymple, Matt Belfanti
Sounds Like: Indie Folk

Band Name: Some Downtown Avenue
