IFC/PHC Endorses Ragland/Smith for UPUA

On Tuesday night before President’s Council, the Presidents/Delegates of the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council chapters voted to endorse Christian Ragland and Colleen Smith for the upcoming Presidential and Vice Presidential positions on the UPUA board. The fact that Ragland and Smith have been working together for quite some time really showed that they already have established themselves as a great team.

Ragland-Smith’s discussion about how they looked to better Greek Life really hit home with many in the room. Such topics included working on taking the focus off of just Greeks when it came to issues with drinking at Penn State.

A Facebook group has even been started, titled “Greeks for Ragland-Smith” to gather the entire Greek Community’s support for the candidates.

Max Wendkos expressed his support of the IFC/PHC’s decision:

I am confident that the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council have chosen to support the candidates best prepared to tackle the issues relevant to the Greek community and the rest of the student body. The Ragland-Smith ticket boasts two incredibly experienced and well-rounded candidates that will be able to build on UPUA’s recent success.

What are your thoughts with the decision of these councils to endorse Ragland/Smith? How do you feel about the candidates?
