Greek Song and Dance Competition Will Serve Community
This weekend, members of the Greek community will sing, dance, and be judged on their actions by the community. After that, some of them will go over to the Eisenhower Auditorium and watch Greek Sing 2010 on Sunday.
The event is held to raise money for the Gayle Beyer’s Scholarship Fund. The theme of Greek Sing 2010 is “Steal the Spotlight” and the event will feature rousing Broadway performances that will put “Glee” to more shame than it is usually accustomed to. Additionally, the fraternities and sororities involved are able to earn spirit points for their participation.
Speaking of harvesting the human spirit to earn money, Penn State University President Graham Spanier was reportedly invited to be a judge at the event. Unfortunately, due to the inherent impossibility of being both the chairman of the BCS and an arbiter of fairness and justice, he had to turn the invitation down.
