Team Effort Leads Women’s Basketball to Victory

Five Penn State women's basketball players scored in double-digits, and the Lady Lions dominated Ohio State on Sunday afternoon, winning 80-71.

The first half remained close until Alex Bentley and Maggie Lucas took over the game. Tied at 15, Lucas hit a 3-pointer that started a 16-5 Penn State run, which also finished with a Lucas 3-pointer. However, with Nikki Greene and Lucas in foul trouble, Ohio State ramped up their defense, and cut into the lead. A Ohio State 3-pointer brought the Buckeyes within four points, forcing a Lady Lion timeout. Bentley hit four free throws down the stretch for a 39-33 halftime lead.
