UPUA To Host Tuition “Crisis Center”

In light of Governor Corbett's proposed budget cuts, the University Park Undergraduate Association's Steering Committee met last night to respond as an undergraduate student government, since the General Assembly doesn't meet this week.

Penn State Reaching Out to Japan

As most of you are aware, this past Friday, Japan suffered a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and its trailing tsunami, one of the world's worst natural disasters ever recorded. With the death toll having reached over 2,000 and still climbing, and around 450,000 people living in shelters, you are probably asking yourself, "How can I, someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania, possibly help?" Well, here's a list of events occurring throughout the week (and beyond) here at Penn State, at which you can donate money and help volunteer.

Penn State Shines in U.S. News Grad School Rankings

Penn State finished ranked highly in a number of different areas in the 2012 U.S. News "Best Grad School" rankings, which were released last night. Seventeen different graduate programs finished in the top ten of their respective rankings, and Penn State took the top spot in Higher Education Administration.

Memorial Service for Bill Schreyer Announced

A memorial service honoring Bill Schreyer, one of Penn State's most storied philanthropists, will be held this weekend in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. The event will begin at 2:00 pm on Sunday and will include remarks from those who knew Schreyer well, including Schreyer Honors College Dean Christian Brady (@shcdean) and head football coach Joe Paterno.

Lady Lions to Play Dayton in NCAA Tournament

It was a certainty that the Penn State women’s basketball team would make the NCAA Tournament. On Monday, the Lady Lions learned that they would face Dayton on Saturday at 11:10 a.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center. Penn State earned the six-seed in the Philadelphia region. Dayton is the 11-seed.
