On Beaver Ave, PSU Celebrates Osama’s Death

Following President Obama’s announcement that US Special Forces have killed Osama bin Laden, thousands of students gathered on Beaver Avenue between McAllister and Garner streets to celebrate the event. Costumed characters crowd surfed down the street, students shot off fireworks, papers were thrown from balconies, and even a small fire was started in Beaver Canyon. We’ve collected a set of pictures and videos from the night. Check them out.

While I can honestly say the celebration we all experienced last night cannot possibly be described in words, these videos will be the closest thing to being there. I could have gone to a spot higher up to get a better angle or spent time interviewing students who were celebrating alongside me, but I think the way my raw video turned out provides much, much more than that would have. This is what it was like among the masses.
