Libraries’ Open House Set for Sept. 7 & 8

The annual Pattee and Paterno Libraries’ open house will be held next Wednesday and Thursday, September 7-8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the open house gives students the opportunity to learn about the resources and services provided by the library as well as the chance to acquaint–or reacquaint–themselves with not only Pattee and Paterno, but the branch libraries as well. While the open house is geared towards freshmen, it is never too late to learn more about the university libraries. Or rather, it’s never too late to have a chance at winning some great prizes.

Each student who complete the open house will receive a Lion Search waterbottle, and the first 250 to compete all of the stops in the open house (as well as branch libraries) will receive a “Joe Knows Libraries” t-shirt. Undergraduate students will also have the opportunity to enter to win an iPad 2, book scholarships and more. Graduate students will have the chance to win EndNote4 and a Barnes’ and Noble Nook eReader along with a Barnes’ and Noble gift card.

So head out to the libraries this Wednesday and Thursday and learn a little more about what they have to offer–and pick up some free swag, of course.
