In the midst of the insanity that was last week, a rumor came to our attention that Johnson & Johnson had decided to no longer donate to THON. After the national media's often poor coverage of all that was happening in State College, which led to the misconstrued opinions of those outside the Penn State community, this rumor, unfortunately, seemed quite plausible. However, Donor & Alumni Relations Overall Anuj Upadhyay has assured us that this is incorrect.
After what people are describing as the most trying and difficult week in Penn State's history, it may seem like everything has changed. But I suspect that really, very little has changed at all. And that, I think, is quite unfortunate.
Close to 10 additional suspected victims have come forward to the authorities since the arrest of the former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky on Nov. 5 on 40 counts of sexually abusing young boys, according to people close to the investigation. The police are working to confirm the new allegations.
Professors have been handling class in a variety of ways since the Sandusky scandal broke. We asked students how many of their professors devoted time in class yesterday to discussing last week's events.
