PSU Votes to Host Presidential Debate Screening

Tonight marks the final presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. PSU Votes will be hosting a screening for this debate in the HUB by the big screen TV as part of their Presidential Election Open Forum series.

The discussion will focus on the candidates’ views on foreign policy, and will be moderated by Bob Schieffer, host of CBS’ Face the Nation. Unlike the last debate, the format of this one will not be a town hall-style meeting, but will follow the first debate’s format.

Following the screening of the debate, attendees are welcome to share their reactions from 10:30-11 p.m. in a conversation hosted by Sociology professor Sam Richards.

Students who attend this screening will also help get to choose an Onward State headline that will be featured in an article recapping this event and the debate. PSU Votes has a goal of getting people to listen and think carefully about what happened in the, to consider the most important facts, and to determine “the winner.”

The winning headline will be chosen by the Onward State staff members, and whoever writes the best headline will get a $10 Starbucks gift card, and recognition in the upcoming Onward State article.
