Best Haircut Places in State College

Looking for a haircut anytime soon? Onward State has created a list of some of the best salons and barber shops in town. If you’re confused or puzzled as to where to get your shiny locks trimmed or cut, keep on reading to figure out which hair service best suits your desires.

Viva Bella (232B West College Ave): Starting at $28 dollars for women, this cute little hair salon is perfect for a nice trim and wash. The hairdressers are extremely friendly, and you receive $20 off your first time and $20 off for every person that you refer. 814.237.8482

Designer’s Den (212 East Calder Way): If you’re willing to spend a little bit more cash, Designer’s Den is highly recommended. This award-winning spa and hair salon is ideal if you’re looking to get your hair done for a special occasion. The spa environment will be sure to ensure the utmost relaxation. 814.234.3366

Gio’s (484 E College Ave): “I love this place. They remember me every time I go in and I only go once every six months,” OS member Jillian Gordon said. Serving State College for more than 14 years, Gio’s guarantees the best available hair service starting at $32 for a hair cut and $40 for a standard color. Waxing is also offered for $12. 814.235.1769

Cherry Lane (611 W Cherry Ln): Located only a few blocks from campus, Cherry Lane Salon is recognized as one of the warmest and friendliest hair services in town. Locally owned and operated, this family hair service provides women with a haircut for $40 and men for $27. 814.861.3680

Looks Hair Salon (228 E Calder Way): Known for being super helpful by giving customers tips and tricks to keep their hair in best condition, Looks is another highly notable salon. Currently expanding, new features will include Bare Minerals Make Up services, a brow bar & body waxing, pedicures & manicures, and airbrush spray tanning. 814.231.0170

Rinaldo’s Barber Shop (107 S Allen Street): Recommended for guys looking to get a quick, nice haircut. The shop has an old school vibe to it and the barbers are said to be attentive to detail. 814.238.9515

Fetterolf’s Barber Shop (234 East College Ave): Another great barber shop located right near Happy Valley Freez. You can receive $2 off your next haircut with certain codes found on their facebook page. 814.237.1871

For Men Only (125 E Beaver Ave): If the store name doesn’t give it away, this hair salon is off limits for you ladies. As for you men out there, you can get a cold Yuengling to sip on while receiving your $21 scalp massage. Not surprisingly, the salon’s motto is, “We wanna spoil you.” 814.237.0881
