Top Pennsylvania Recruit Michal Menet Commits to Penn State

James Franklin came a little bit closer to reaching his goal of absolute domination of the state of Pennsylvania today, locking up a commitment from Michal Menet, the top player in the state for the Class of 2016. The four-star offensive tackle is regarded as the consensus number one prospect in PA and a top-10 offensive tackle in the Class of 2016, with offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State and more than a dozen others.

Menet’s decision ultimately came down to Penn State and Duke, although it seemed that Penn State was the obvious pick for Menet all along. All 31 predictions on Menet’s page on 247 Sports had him coming to Happy Valley, and according to the recruiting website, he visited Penn State a whopping seven times since his recruitment began almost two years ago, compared to just two visits at Duke.

After adding Menet, the Nittany Lion recruiting class jumps up to 10th in the country. Menet is the class’ second offensive tackle commit, after fellow offensive tackle Alex Gellerstedt committed last week, and is also the class’ top recruit, coming in at 37th in the nation on 247’s composite rankings.

About the Author

Mike Reisman

is a senior Supply Chain Management major with an Economics minor (Read: Business Douche) from South Jersey. He has an intense fear of graduating so please don't bring it up. He writes about stupid things nobody cares about, and student life if the site is low on content that is clearly supposed be funny but is really very unfunny. He is lovingly (?) known around the staff as Baby Mike which may or may not be because he has a child (hint: it’s not). He’s also a second generation Penn Stater who has been wearing Penn State sweatshirts since before he was two, a habit he hasn’t grown out of.
