Movin’ On Music Festival Reveals Official 2016 Logo
The Movin’ On Music Festival is always a highly anticipated event for Penn State students. Classes come to an end, the weather gets warmer, and summer is around the corner. A Penn State tradition, Movin’ On was recently named one of the top five student-run music festivals by Live Nation.
Though the festival is more than two months away, the excitement is still evident. Movin’ On released its official logo for 2016.
This year the Movin’ On team took submissions from juniors in the graphic design program. After deliberating numerous suggestions, the team selected a design by Katelyn Nellis. Nellis, one of Movin’ On’s graphic design chairs, created a logo depicting Movin’ On’s title printed on an old-school Volkswagen Van.
“I chose the Volkswagen Van for the design because it stands as a symbol for many of the things Movin’ On represents,”Nellis said. “Movin’ On is a music festival that is comparable to many of the biggest and most widely known festivals, old and new. I chose to express this through a reference to the original music festival, Woodstock.”
This year’s merchandise is light yellow and baby blue. New Movin’ On merchandise will be available to purchase soon, along with some “throwback” merchandise from previous years.
