Get Ready To Feel The Bern: Bernie Sanders Opens Downtown Office

If you’re a Penn Stater and you’re feeling the Bern, it looks like you’re in luck. The Bernie Sanders campaign has a home right here in downtown State College.

The State College headquarters is located at 426 South Allen Street. The organization Centre County for Bernie Sanders is the primary political organization working at the office; they are seeking volunteers and donors of furniture and snacks.

Penn State also has a chapter of Students for Bernie Sanders on campus. These students work on the Sanders campaign at large via phone and spread Sanders’ messages locally to students and State College residents.

Sanders won’t be the only candidate with an office downtown, as Hillary Clinton’s campaign will hold the grand opening of their downtown office today with special guest Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood.

The Clinton and Sanders office openings come as no surprise with the Pennsylvania Primary around the corner on April 26. Following the close New York primary, the two candidates will be campaigning heavily in Pennsylvania. It will not be shocking if one or both of the candidates decides to speak on campus, as Penn State has hosted its fair share of political candidates in the past.
