Penn State Student Project ‘570MENU’ Finds Success

The northeastern area of Pennsylvania is a charming place, with equally charming restaurants scattered throughout it. The challenge with these restaurants, however, is that they can be hard to find. In addition to this, some of them may not have their menus posted online, which can make it difficult to determine where to go at times. So what’s the solution?

570MENU

570MENU is a great online option to help you get to know the local restaurants in the NEPA area. The website was launched in 2016, by Jake Agnew, a Penn-State graduate, and Frank Barongi, a King’s College graduate. Together, they were frustrated with the fact that though there were so many great restaurants in the area, many had no website, or they didn’t offer their menus online if they had one.

In order to fix this problem, the duo started 570MENU, whose purpose has a two-fold benefit. The first benefit is that people all over northeast Pennsylvania will now able to access information about restaurants online. This makes choosing a restaurant much easier and more convenient. The second benefit was for the restaurants themselves. By getting a presence online, they were able to get more exposure and were able to reach their potential customers better. In essence, it was a win-win for both customers and restaurants.

The Future of 570MENU

What began as an idea has now formed into a growing business. 570MENU now has over 10,000 users and has begun to offer featured restaurant reviews. At the moment, the website has 95 restaurant menus from the area listed, with plans to add even more.

Take this review of Abe’s Hot Dogs in Kingston, PA as an example, featured on the 570MENU website.

Abe’s Hot Dogs

If you’re a Kingston local, it should be no surprise to you that Abe’s Hot Dogs is included as one of the most popular restaurants in Kingston. They offer a wide selection of hot dogs along with fries. As far as their fries are concerned, they might be some of the best you will find on Wyoming Avenue. Abe’s Hot Dogs can be topped with meat sauce, cheese, pickles or relish. There’s also an option for sauerkraut or Texas meat sauce… Sam steaks, four types of hoagies and three varieties of pita sandwiches keep Abe’s Hot Dogs on the list as one of best restaurants in Kingston.

They have other reviews like this one available on their website. The reviews cover not just restaurants but also travel and tourist information for Pennsylvania visitors. This results in great exposure for local businesses as well as valuable knowledge for people looking to visit the area.

Connect With 570MENU

As you can see, 570MENU is doing some great things for local businesses as well as for the people who live in and visit northeast PA. If you are looking to find new restaurants in the NEPA area, check out their website, or follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
