Homecoming Announces 2018 Theme: Guide State Forward

Homecoming announced the theme for Homecoming 2018 is “Guide State Forward” today at the Bryce Jordan Center during THON. The logo will be unveiled at the Blue-White game on April 21.

This year’s Homecoming week will be held from October 7-13, a welcome change from last year’s mid-November celebration. The celebration will culminate in Penn State’s 99th Homecoming football game against Michigan State on Saturday, October 13. Kickoff time for the game has not yet been announced.

“This year’s theme represents an opportunity to take everything we love about Penn State and move
forward with it into a new age,” Homecoming 2018 Donor Relations Director Isabella Webster said. “We will take the tradition and pride Penn State thrives upon and use it to kickstart a new era for our University.”

Throughout the week, Homecoming will host other activities for students the Best of Penn State Carnival, Pollock Party, and the For the Glory Talent Show. Next year’s THON theme will be announced during the annual Homecoming parade Friday night, October 12.

“We are very excited to share our 2018 Homecoming Theme with everyone,” Homecoming 2018 Executive Director Ally Berdan said. “The 2018 Executive Committee has big things planned for this year and this theme encompasses that. Penn State is constantly evolving and changing as things around us advance forward. We have the opportunity to make a difference on the University and inspire students, alumni, and community members to continue to make a difference in shaping the future.”
