Guessing What’s On The THON Desktop
For just a few moments around 8 a.m. Saturday, the jumbotron in the BJC switched from showing video footage of THON attendees to some desktop that was running the show. We were allowed a brief glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes to pull off such an event.

The jumbotron screens aren’t quite big enough or clear enough to see what files to figure out what folders and files were on the computer, but we’ve got some guesses as to what we might find.
Memes
Everyone likes a good meme. We’d like to imagine that the owner of this THON desktop does, too. Of course, we’d only expect THON-related memes, which may or may not actually exist…so we made some up. Nothing like some Bee Movie content.
Every meme-lover is going to have a good Spongebob meme in there, too.
One of the more ruthless aspects of THON is Color Wars. Every year, one color wins it all and choose one color to ELIMINATE next year. It’s only survival of the fittest here.
When it’s 5 a.m. and you’re working on just 3 hours of sleep, you only want one thing.
The List Of Songs That THON Performers Can Choose From
It seems as though every musical performance over the course of THON has had some overlapping song choices. Early 2000s rock is immensely popular (for good reason), but you can only hear Mr. Brightside so many times. (Editor’s note: Mr. Brightside never gets old, sorry.) The songs that get pumped out of the Beaver Stadium speakers can certainly be overplayed.
The only explanation is that the THON staff requires performers to choose from a list of about 10 songs. That list probably looks something like this:
List Of All Greek Letters Spelled Out In English
As you look around the stands, you’ll notice a whole bunch of letters that are ~literally~ in a different language. You may have a friend in Zeta Psi or Phi Sigma Sigma, but if you’ve never seen a “psi” or “phi” before, it’d be nice to have something to refer to.
If you’re looking for a Greek org and can’t read their letters, you may be in trouble.
