Champs Catapults Into Final Matchup To Be Named Nation’s Best College Bar

It’s the final countdown.

Champs Downtown is in the final matchup to be named the nation’s Best College Bar in the #BarstoolBestBar competition. The Jonas-approved bar will face off against East Carolina University’s Sup Dogs. Not to catch them on technicality or anything, but uh, we’ve heard it’s not really even a bar.

Voting is open through 9 p.m. Thursday, April 11. All you need to do to vote is tweet using #BarstoolChamps and #BarstoolBestBar. Each account that tweets with the two hashtags will count as one vote, and your account must be public for your submission to be counted.

After it was named the No. 1 seed for the Midwest Region, Champs developed a promotion to unlock insane deals for each round as it advanced through the bracket. Vodka Red Bulls have been $5 since the seedings were announced, round one unlocked $.50 wings and $5 Long Islands, the Round of 32 unlocked $4 Long Islands and $3 Coors Light 24oz stadium cans with souvenir koozies, the Sweet Sixteen unlocked $5 sloppy joe’s, $5 nutcrackers, $3 green tea shots, and $3 Long Islands, the Elite Eight unlocked $2 Long Islands and $3 Mind Erasers, and the Final Four unlocked $2 mind erasers.

Champs Happy Hour is already a fantastic deal, and now the bar is practically giving things away for free to thank fans for their support throughout the competition.

Speaking of giving things away for free, did we mention the Jonas Brothers sponsored an open bar last Friday and performed at Champs with their famous wives as special guests?

It was the first live performance of “Cool,” released that same day.

This just doesn’t happen at other college bars.

If Champs wins out through the remainder of the competition, the bar plans to throw a victory party for all those who supported it through each round of the bracket. Joe Jonas will hopefully be back to serve as “Grand Marshal” for the celebration.

“If we win, we want Joe to be able to sit back and celebrate with us, and we want to be able to thank him for all of the love he’s given us during the competition,” Champs manager Dante Lucchesi said. The blow-out could also include some other surprise acts if Lucchesi has anything to say about it.

Vote by tweeting with #BarstoolChamps and #BarstoolBestBar by 9 p.m. Thursday to cement Champs in best college bar glory and help make the victory party a reality.
