Penn State Alumni Association to host free concert during We Are Weekend

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State alumni and fans are invited to rock out at a free concert during We Are Weekend, one of the Penn State Alumni Association’s marquee events.

We Are Weekend will take place May 31–June 2, at University Park, and features giveaways, events, and a free concert at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Bruce in the USA headlines the concert, and Velveeta will open, with doors and concessions opening at noon on Saturday, June 1. Velveeta will begin at 12:30, and Bruce in the USA will follow at 2:00.

Pre-registration for Penn Staters attending only the concert is required and available online. Click here to reserve general admission concert tickets. We Are Weekend registration isn’t required to attend the concert, which is open and free for everyone.

We Are Weekend registration includes the opportunity to customize a fun Penn State weekend and also features free Berkey Creamery ice cream, water, and reserved seating at the concert.

Registration is available online for We Are Weekend.

Hailed as “The most powerful and intense Springsteen tribute on the planet,” Bruce in the USA is comprised of seasoned world-class professional musicians and routinely plays at events across the country.

“This band is as close to seeing Bruce Springsteen as you can get. The sound, look and musicians are unparalleled to anything else,” said Dustin Rehrig, manager of DDR Entertainment.

Velveeta enjoys a passionate following in State College and beyond, playing at events throughout the region year-round. You can stay updated on the concert by visiting the Alumni Association’s Facebook page.

We Are Weekend registration is open to all Penn Staters, who can enjoy time with family, friends, and classmates at a host of campus and community events.

We Are Weekend features many other Penn State-related attractions and giveaways, including:

  • behind-the-scenes access on facility tours;
