Three-Star Quarterback Beau Pribula Commits To Penn State Football

James Franklin has officially added the first Pennsylvania native to his recruiting class of 2022.

Quarterback Beau Pribula committed to the Nittany Lions Monday afternoon. The young signal-caller from York is ranked as the 10th-best dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the 11th-best overall recruit from his home state, according to 247Sports.

Pribula is now the third player to join Penn State’s class of 2022. The group also includes four-star Ohio wide receiver Kaden Saunders, and four-star Wisconsin tight end Jerry Cross. The Nittany Lions currently have the second-best 2022 class in the Big Ten, behind just Ohio State.

The quarterback has received offers from 13 total programs so far, including several from the Big Ten. Pribula chose the Nittany Lions over Nebraska, Northwestern, and West Virginia, among others.

Pribula has already impressed as a two-sport athlete at Central York High School, as he plays both football and basketball. As a sophomore, Pribula started at quarterback this past fall and threw for 1,006 yards and six scores. He also rushed for 298 total yards and helped lead the Panthers to a 9-2 record.

Standing at 6’2″ and 195 pounds, Pribula’s athleticism will likely be an exciting addition to Penn State’s quarterback room. The Nittany Lions expect to have depth at the position when the York native arrives in fall 2022, as Will Levis is already an established back up to Sean Clifford while Ta’Quan Roberson sits at third-string. Three-star talent Micah Bowens is also headed to Happy Valley this fall, while Christian Veilleux committed to the program’s 2021 class this past April.
