Penn State-Themed iOS 14 Designs

Tired of boring old iPhone home screens? Well, the wait is over. You can now decorate your screen more than ever before thanks to Apple’s new iOS 14 update.

With new tools at your fingertips, you can customize your home screen more than ever before. Since the update released, many people have created personalized home screens that represent their favorite teams, hobbies, and aesthetics. Why not deck your iPhone out with a Penn State theme?

Here’s a few of our favorite ideas so far.

THON

What better way to celebrate THON than making your home screen FTK? From the yellow ribbon wallpaper to pictures of the line dance, customize your phone to show your support for the kids (and to reminisce on THON Weekend, which felt like decades ago).

Penn State Football

If you’re thinking of doing Penn State backgrounds, football comes to mind right away. With the season coming back in just about a month, decorate your screen to get hyped for the October 24 kickoff against Indiana.

You could even include a few pictures from your favorite rivalries, like Penn State and Pitt (which we all know isn’t even technically a rivalry when one team win’s nearly every year).

Stripe Out

Man, what we wouldn’t give to head to a good ol’ fashioned Beaver Stadium Stripe Out right about now. In the meantime, why not get striped and hyped with your home screen?

In addition to the background, make sure to color code the apps so you’re not the equivalent of a person wearing a navy shirt in the white shirt sections. Don’t be that guy!

Willard Preacher

The Willard Preacher has been around for generations of Penn State students, and almost anyone who has gone to Penn State in the last 30 years or so recognizes him.

This red background really commemorates his iconic red sweatshirt and features the Bible app, of course.

White Out

Last but certainly not least is the White Out. It seems like just yesterday we were screaming “Mo Bamba” at the top of our lungs while Michigan epically failed on the first play of the game and blew a timeout.

Gone are the days of the White Out this year (at least an in-person White Out, that is!). Use this all-white background to return to those happy times.

If you’re interested in these backgrounds or more, download the apps “Widgetsmith” and “Color Widgets.” Apple only gives you a few options for your pictures to choose from as a widget.

You can choose which picture you want on your widget or have the widget rotate pictures throughout the day. So, if you desire to have different pictures of the Willard Preacher rotate on your phone throughout the day, you can do that!

What a time we live in, folks.
