[Photo Story] Penn State Through Black & White Lenses

As fall break quickly approaches, some students are spending their final days on campus for the remainder of 2020. On Friday, the university will transition to remote learning for the rest of the semester.

Some members of our visual staff walked around campus with a more melancholy, nostalgic, and desaturated lens to get a good last look at it all before heading home.

Around campus, students can be found taking in what may be their last moments at their favorite study spots for the next couple of months.

And it’s not just the humans getting ready for winter. Squirrels are still out in full force looking for snacks, too.

On the bright side, students are just a couple rings of the Old Main bell away from being able to take a break from classes.

The Symbol of our Best is about to see a drop in visitors soon enough. Fear not, though. It’ll still look beautiful as ever upon our return.

You can’t quite see them here, but some folks have just a few more days to take in what’s left of the fall colors at the Arboretum.

Even while separated from campus, Penn State students and alumni alike can keep a piece of the university for themselves at home when the Nittany Lions face off against Iowa Saturday.
