Report: Three-Star Center Elijah Hutchins-Everett Recommits To Penn State Hoops

It looks like Penn State men’s basketball finally has a recruit in its 2021 class.

Three-star Center Elijah Hutchins-Everett reportedly recommitted to the program Monday, according to 247Sports. Hutchins-Everett officially decommitted from Penn State in November following the resignation of head coach Pat Chambers.

“I told Penn State they can still recruit me,” he told 247Sports in a previous interview. “I still love the school regardless and it was a hard decision decommitting from them but I had to better myself and do what was best for my career moving forward. So we’ll see what happens in the future. “

The 6′10″, 225-pound big man is rated as the No. 207 recruit in the country, and the second-best prospect from New Jersey, according to 247Sports. He played at Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Connecticut, averaging 11.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game during the 2017-2018 season.

Hutchins-Everett chose Penn State over other marquee college basketball programs like Villanova, Miami, Seton Hall, among others.

Following the decommitments of TaQuan Woodley and Houston Mallette, Hutchins-Everett is currently the only player committed to interim head coach Jim Ferry’s program. He’ll likely compete with Abdou Tsimbila and Caleb Dorsey for playing time down low.
