Penn State Football Climbs To No. 11 In AP Top 25 Poll

Penn State football is rolling in the AP Top 25 Poll, folks.

After Saturday’s nail-biting win over Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium, the Nittany Lions climbed eight spots to No. 11 this week’s poll.

James Franklin’s squad just slid by the Badgers by a score of 16-10 this weekend. Timely scores from Noah Cain and Jahan Dotson, and even more timely interceptions from Jaquan Brisker and Ji’Ayir Brown, sealed the victory for Penn State.

The Nittany Lions are now the third-highest ranked Big Ten team in the poll. Ohio State leads the way at No. 3, while Iowa sits at No. 10, and Wisconsin follows at No. 18. Indiana fell out of this week’s poll after getting rolled over by the Hawkeyes 34-6 on Saturday, while the Buckeyes took care of Minnesota 45-31 Thursday night.

As for the USA Today Coaches Poll, Penn State came in at No. 13. Ohio State (No. 3), Iowa (No. 12), and Wisconsin (No. 17) follow the Nittany Lions. Indiana, which was ranked No. 17 last week, dropped out following a loss to the Hawkeyes.

The Nittany Lions now have a chance to stay hot next Saturday against Ball State, who received seven votes in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll. Penn State’s home opener will kick off at 3:30 p.m. at Beaver Stadium. Folks at home can catch it on FS1.
