2022 Senior Bowl To Feature Four Nittany Lions

The 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl will showcase a handful of Nittany Lions on Sunday as Penn State’s finest try to impress NFL Draft scouts and team executives.

Arnold Ebiketie (defensive lineman), Jesse Luketa (linebacker), Tariq Castro-Fields (cornerback), and Jordan Stout (punter) all accepted Senior Bowl invites between November and December. Wide receiver Jahan Dotson had previously accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, but he’s reportedly no longer on the game’s roster. Neither is safety Jaquan Brisker.

Ebiketie finished the 2021 season with 9.5 sacks, 62 total tackles, and a conference-highest 18 tackles for a loss. The defensive lineman transfer from Temple has already received positive draft buzz, as ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. projected him as a first-round selection for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Luketa transitioned from linebacker into a defensive lineman for 2021, amassing 61 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and a pick-six against Ball State. Additionally, Luketa was one of few seniors to return for the team’s appearance in the Outback Bowl.

Castro-Fields had a quieter season in comparison to his overall career. The fifth-year senior recorded 33 tackles and six pass defenses over the course of the 2021 season. Last year, Castro-Fields accepted an invite to the 2021 Senior Bowl but instead opted to flex his remaining year of eligibility at Penn State.

Stout assumed the role of both punter and kicker in his final season at Penn State. At both positions, he experienced success in different ways. For the 2021 season, Stout was named a finalist for the Ray Guy Award (given to college football’s best punter) and led the nation’s top kickoff return defense– a unit that only allowed 28 kick return yards all year.

As members of the National Team, these Penn Staters will be coached by New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh and his staff. Their opponents, the American Team, will be coached by Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his appointees.

The Senior Bowl annually offers opportunities for senior players to practice and play in front of NFL coaches and front-office executives prior to the NFL Draft.

The 2022 Senior Bowl will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 6. NFL Network is set to offer live television coverage from Mobile, Ala.
