Police responded at about 3:50 p.m. to a reported robbery at PNC Bank, 1408 N. Atherton Street

The suspect, who police described as a white male between 5’9″ and 6’1″, presented a note and demanded cash from bank staff. [Editor’s note: Police originally reported the suspect was carrying a handgun and described the incident as an armed robbery but later said in an update at 6:30 p.m. that no weapon was displayed.]

No one was injured during the incident but the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police released surveillance images on Wednesday evening:

The suspect fled the area on a black mountain back heading toward downtown State College, police said on Wednesday night.

He was wearing a red baseball cap, green neck gator, gloves, a dark zip jacket, and khaki pants.
