Bike Den To Host Bike Workshop For The LGBTQ+ Community April 14

The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, the Gender Equity Center, and Transportation Services are teaming up to offer a bike workshop for Penn State’s LGBTQ+ community as part of the university’s Campus Pride Month celebration.

The workshop will be offered at the Bike Den located on the first floor of the West Parking Deck. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14.

This week’s workshop will cover useful cycling tips and bike safety guidelines, along with cycling’s history in relation to the LGBTQ+ community and resources for queer cyclists.

Last month, the Bike Den hosted a similar “Pride In Your Ride” women and queer night in honor of Women’s History Month.

The Bike Den opened its doors in August and has served as a hub for local cyclists to work on repairs, attend workshops, and build a community of bikers.
