Gameday Coverage: No. 11 Penn State vs. Michigan State

It’s time for one last ride in Beaver Stadium, folks.

Penn State will take on Michigan State in its annual Senior Day at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 26. The Nittany Lions come into the game with a 9-2 record, hoping to earn a potential berth to a New Year’s Six bowl game. On the other hand, Michigan State comes into the game 5-6, fighting for bowl eligibility while still shaking off the aftermath of its ugly tunnel incident at Michigan Stadium back in October.

Both teams have something to play for, so it’ll surely be a fun one. Here’s everything you need to know about Penn State’s regular-season finale.

Television

Saturday’s matchup will kick off at 4 p.m. EST on FS1. Noah Eagle and Mark Helfrich will be on the call.

Radio

Penn State Sports Network — Steve Jones and Jack Ham
Local: 99.5 & 103.7 FM/1450 AM, Sirius/XM/Internet: 83/83/983

Weather

The sun will be shining in Happy Valley, folks. It’ll be a great day for tailgating, as temperatures will get up to 50 degrees between noon and 4 p.m., according to AccuWeather. Once the game starts, temperatures will dip to 45 degrees as the sun goes down. It will be moderately windy, too, with winds blowing at 7 miles per hour and gusts getting up to 14.

Last Meeting

Penn State fell to the Spartans 30-27 in a snow-filled Spartan Stadium last season. The Nittany Lions led on two different occasions, but couldn’t close it out in East Lansing.

Sean Clifford completed 23-of-34 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns. Jahan Dotson finished his Penn State career with a bang, as he caught eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

Injuries/Suspensions

James Franklin announced in his Tuesday press conference that Parker Washington will miss the rest of the season. After missing the last two games with appendicitis, Joey Porter Jr. was seen at practice this week. So, it’s a possibility that we’ll see him play. James Franklin did also say that he expects Olu Fashanu back at some point this season, but it’s unclear when exactly that is.

As for Michigan State, the Spartans will be without eight of their players after being suspended following the ugly Michigan Stadium tunnel incident, in which multiple Spartans jumped a few Michigan players. Most recently, Khary Crump, Jacoby Windmon, Itayvion Brown, Angelo Grose, Justin white, Brandon Write, and Zion Young have all been charged with crimes stemming from the incident this past Wednesday.

Betting Lines

Penn State is currently a 19.5-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 52.5 points.
