Quarterback Karson Kiesewetter Commits To Penn State As Preferred Walk-On

Another walk-on is coming to Happy Valley, folks.

In-state quarterback Karson Kiesewetter announced on Wednesday that he’s joining James Franklin’s program as a preferred walk-on. His commitment comes just two days after he was offered by Penn State.

Kiesewetter comes to Penn State from Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School in Altoona. He led the team to a Pennsylvania 1A Championship in 2021, and the team finished at No. 89 in MaxPreps’ state rankings in 2022

In addition to playing quarterback, Kiesewetter played defensive back in high school and has also established himself as a dual-threat quarterback. He threw for 18 touchdowns while rushing for 31 during his senior season, according to MaxPreps.

Kiesewetter is the second preferred walk-on to commit to Penn State’s Class of 2023 on Wednesday, as he committed just a few hours after Ethan Black, an in-state wideout.
