Findlay Commons Desk To Temporarily Relocate Until End Of Spring Semester

Beginning March 4, the Findlay Commons desk will temporarily relocate to room 122 in Findlay Commons as the construction in East Halls continues.

The renovations, which have been ongoing since 2016, are currently in stage 2B. This stage primarily includes revamping Bigler, Curtin, and Packer Halls, but also includes some slight parking and landscaping changes. The project is on track to be completed before students return in fall 2023.

Before leaving for spring break, students are required to pick up any mail from their mailboxes, as housing will be closed at noon on Saturday, March 4, and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 12.

Once students return, they must go to 122 Findlay Commons for all services they would expect to find at the commons desk. This includes loaner keys, mail and package pick-up, temporary id+ cards, cleaning supplies, and other services.

Like the permanent commons desks across campus, the temporary desk will be open 24 hours a day. The makeshift commons desk will remain in 122 Findlay Commons for the remainder of the spring semester as renovations proceed.

In November 2022, the Board of Trustees approved the sixth phase of the East Halls renovations, which focuses on updating Hastings, Stone, and Snyder Halls. This final phase will continue throughout the 2023-2024 academic year.
