Former Penn State Cornerback John Reid Claimed Off Waivers By Minnesota Vikings

John Reid is on the move, folks.

The former Penn State cornerback was added to the Minnesota Vikings roster Thursday, just one day after he was released by the Atlanta Falcons.

Reid has struggled to make a significant impact in the NFL after he was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2020. His rookie season in the league is his best to date when he recorded 13 tackles in 13 games for Houston. Since then, he’s recorded 12 tackles for the Seattle Seahawks in 2021 and five for the Tennessee Titans in 2022.

Outside of a redshirt season in 2017, Reid produced consistent numbers over his five years at Penn State. He finished his time as a Nittany Lion with 126 tackles and seven interceptions, including an interception taken back for a touchdown during his final year.

Reid ranks 11th all-time in program history in passes defended.
