THON To Host Annual 5K Race October 22

Mark your calendars, folks. This year’s THON 5K will be held on Sunday, October 22.

Similarly to the past two years, THON 5K participants can take part in the race in person in Happy Valley or from anywhere else as part of the organization’s Around the World Challenge. Folks can register for the 5K in person or to participate in a hybrid capacity.

Registration for the in-person 5K is $10, which goes directly to Four Diamonds or can be credited to an organization. Participants can also purchase a t-shirt for an additional $25. To receive a t-shirt, folks should sign up before Friday, September 15. After signing up, runners will receive a digital waiver via email that must be completed before the race.

Those who choose to participate in the Around the World Challenge, the online portion of the event, must create a DonorDrive page to raise funds and track activity. Around the World Challenge participants can earn up to $1 per mile moved until funds up to $25,000 run out.

The challenge will take place from October 15 to October 22, and global participants can learn more information about virtual fundraising here.

Live music, a THON raffle, guest speakers, and games are scheduled throughout race day on October 22 in Happy Valley. All in-person attendees will receive a free meal after the race, too.
