Penn State Student Farm Club To Host Harvest Festival September 14
As the cool breeze slowly makes its way back into Happy Valley, the countdown until fall is almost over, folks.
Just in time to get Penn Staters in the autumn mood, the Penn State Student Farm Club is holding its annual Harvest Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 14.
The festival will be held on the farm located at the intersection of Big Hollow Road and Fox Hollow Road and is free to attend. Guests can enjoy live music, sample seasonal farm-fresh food, take part in arts and crafts, and learn more about student farm initiatives.
This year’s Harvest Fest is set to host local caterers such as Taproot Kitchen, State College Area High School, and Penn State Housing and Food Services. Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi will provide welcoming remarks to kick off the festival, followed by a musical performance from the local band Tyne and the Fastlyne.
From making sun prints, planting succulents, and taking part in other farm-themed activities, the festival has attractions for all ages.
Free buses will run continuously between the Berkey Creamery bus pull-off on Curtin Road and the Ross Student Farm from 3:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for those interested in attending. In addition to the event buses, the Ross Student Farm is teaming up with Spin to offer students $10 in future ride credits to anyone who takes a Spin bike to the farm from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on festival day. If interested in taking the CATA buses, routes H and HU will run to the farm.
Visitors are encouraged to travel sustainably to the festival because there is limited parking at the farm.
