Penn State Women’s Soccer’s Mieke Schiemann Named To TopDrawerSoccer Team Of The Week

Penn State women’s soccer defensive Mieke Schiemann was named to the TopDrawerSoccer team of the week, the organization announced Tuesday.

Schiemann put on her best offensive performance for the Nittany Lions yet against Princeton Thursday, scoring two goals and notching an assist in Penn State’s 3-0 victory to end out-of-conference play for Penn State.

From the start of the season, Schiemann has been a consistent starter for a Penn State team that is the second team in program history to finish out-of-conference play undefeated. In Penn State’s seven games played in the 2023 season, Schiemann’s three goals already equal her total from the entire 2022 season.

Since coming to Happy Valley in 2021, Schiemann has made 47 appearances for Penn State, starting 46 times and playing nearly 3,600 minutes.

Schiemann is the second Nittany Lion to earn recognition from TopDrawerSoccer this year, after forward Kaitlyn MacBean was named to the organization’s Team of the Week after her performances against West Virginia and TCU.
