Onward State Makes A Christmas Song: The 12 Days Of Blogmas
The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with some music? For years, Onward State has been creating our own lyrical parodies of songs and redesigning album covers with a Penn State-themed flare.
In all of these projects, we’ve never actually turned our ideas into reality…until now. This semester, a group of Onward State staffers collaborated with pianist Emma McQuinn, audio recorder Brendan Locke, and guitarist Anthony DeAngelis to create our own Penn State-themed version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
We present… “The 12 Days of Blogmas.”
The project was a ton of fun for us to create from start to finish. Now remember, we aren’t trained singers. Not even close. We’re just a group of students wanting to spread some holiday cheer in the way Buddy the Elf said we should.
If you’d like to see some behind-the-scenes footage of how the tune came together, check out the video below, recorded by staffer Olivia Damato.
We want to thank everyone who helped make this project happen and hope you all enjoy listening to it. Happy holidays, folks!
