Power Ranking THON 2024 Merchandise

THON 2024 is officially underway, and merchandise stands around the Bryce Jordan Center and online are stocked with items.

With updated clothing for the new year of THON, we decided to power rank some of the merchandise found on this year’s THON’s online store.

No. 11: Granite Short Sleeve Shirt

This shirt lacks any innovation. It doesn’t have any flavor or pop, which much of the gear ranked higher on the list includes. If you’re looking for a shirt to wear to support THON, this is the way to go. However, there isn’t much of a design to it.

No. 10: Orchid Short Sleeve

The design of this shirt isn’t so bad, but the design that it has on the chest reads “1-800-THON,” which isn’t a complete phone number. The color is very welcoming, and the dark purple on top of light purple is a great look.

No. 9: Topaz Short Sleeve

This is the same shirt as the granite short-sleeved option but is a brighter and more cheerful color. Once again, it is a very simple THON logo, but the color brings it a couple of spots ahead of the granite version.

No. 8: Ice Long Sleeve

This is the only long-sleeved shirt available online. It presents a clean look with the left-chested logo. The color is somewhere between the granite and topaz short-sleeve shirts, which is a wonderful combination.

No. 7: Mission Hoodie

This light purple hoodie is very sleek, and it has the THON mission statement just above the pocket. This is an incredible idea, and the placement of the words is modern.

The only reason this hoodie isn’t higher on the list is the difficulty of reading the statement. Nonetheless, it is still very cool.

No. 6: Berry Pocket Short Sleeve

The pocket of this berry-colored shirt says “Treasure Every Adventure,” which is the THON 2024 motto. Aside from the saying that describes THON to its core, this shirt is also a great color. Chest pockets aren’t the style for many people today, but this is a great shirt.

No. 5: Pigment Mint Crew

I’m always a big fan of all-lowercase merchandise, and this crewneck has exactly that, reading “for the kids.”

The saying is heard and seen all around THON, and it sums it up perfectly. Add that to this crewneck’s mint color, and it comes together for a top-five merchandise item.

No. 4: Events THON Weekend Hoodie

This hoodie is inspired by the merchandise from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, and it’s awesome. The color is uncommon for hoodies, which makes it even better. Plus, THON is rarely referred to as “Dance Marathon,” but this shirt does exactly that under “Penn State.” This hoodie is incredible.

No. 3: Pigment Mint Sweatpants

These are the only sweatpants available, so they automatically got bumped up on the list. I’ve never seen sweatpants of this color, and it’s a cool one. The only thing keeping this item outside of the top two is the fact that it doesn’t directly mention THON, and it only features a yellow ribbon.

No. 2: Rose Short Sleeve

The pink look is spectacular and different from anything else available. This short-sleeved shirt has three records on the chest that say “For The Kids.” Again, this mantra sums up THON so well, and this shirt puts it on display.

No. 1: BJC Crew

The Bryce Jordan Center has become the perfect home for THON Weekend, and this crewneck shows off its vast structure. With a cutout of the outside of the arena in the center of the design and the words “THON Weekend” and “State College, PA,” this crewneck is definitely Penn State THON exclusive.

Overall, the THON 2024 merchandise provides a great variety of items, all of which are great. Let’s dance in style, Penn State!
