What’s Missing From The THON 2024 Line Dance?

THON is finally back, and that means the line dance has returned. There’s so much to highlight from the past year from downtown Sheetz closing to Barbenheimer. The harsh truth is that only so many events can be featured in the lyrics.

We’ve compiled people, places, and events that we think are deserving to be in this year’s rendition of the line dance.

Travis Scott’s “FE!N”

It hasn’t been that long since Travis Scott was jumping on the bar at Downtown Champs after his Circus Maximus concert in the Bryce Jordan Center. It’s OK that Scott’s appearance in Happy Valley isn’t a part of the song, but I would’ve loved for FE!N to be a part of the dancing portion of the line dance.

Lionel Messi Leads Miami FC To MLS Cup

After a historic transfer where the greatest football soccer player of all time headed to the United States, Messi led a struggling Miami team to win its first-ever MLS Cup. The club was first introduced into the league in 2020, and thanks to the legend, it lifted the trophy at the end of the season.

Anyone But You – Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney

By no means is this an award-winning film, but it caught momentum through TikTok, Glen Powell, Sydney Sweeney, and more Sydney Sweeney. The casual moviegoer would appreciate seeing their faces on the big screen during the line dance. At the end of the day, I’m happy Barbie and Oppenheimer got the spotlight they both deserve.

Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Reaches Final Four

It was a stressful run for the Nittany Lions, winning two games in the NCAA Tournament in the final minutes. Their road ended in Philadelphia after a very controversial call where Duke scored a goal in the final minute. To this day, he was in the crease.

Simone Biles Becomes All-Time Winningest Gymnast

We already knew she was the greatest ever, but in 2023, she solidified her resume by earning her 37th medal in the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in October. Perhaps she would’ve gotten some more love if she had done this in an Olympic year.

Sexyy Red – SkeeYee

Sexyy Red came to the White Out, and like Travis Scott, she even showed love at Downtown Champs. No one would’ve loved to see a feature of Sexyy Red more than me. A snippet of SkeeYee within the song would’ve been enough.

Penn State Hoops’ New Identity

The March Madness run that stole all of our hearts was rightfully highlighted in the lyrics, but not the signing of head coach Mike Rhoades along with all of the players he brought into the program. This was a turning point for Penn State hoops and a new hope for the future of the team.

Eagles Blow The Super Bowl To Chiefs

This one hurts deep down.
