[Photo Story] Elevated Views From Happy Valley

As students in the 21st century, we spend a lot of time looking down. Whether it be our phones, computers, or notebooks, it can be easy to get caught up in the world below. We at Onward State wanted to take this idea of looking down to the next level ~literally~, so we set off to find some places where looking down provides you a more special view of the world below. Places like this are few but provide a view unlike no other.

With this in mind, we sent our photographers out to capture this special point of view of the world from above. Check out some of our favorite angles from the bird’s eye view in these fabled vantage points.

Downtown is our first stop. The views from here can be hard to find, but it pays off when you see the beauty of our little town.

Hey, I can see my apartment from here!

Friday night lights? Yes, please!

We can’t forget about the Saturday night lights either.

Our next stop takes us to the top of the HUB parking deck.

Here we partook in the age-old pastime of people-watching.

Is this what the birds always see?

Here we found the rooftops of dorms and views of the lovely mountains that surround our happiest of valleys.

Our next spot takes us across campus to another view of the picture-perfect buildings of Happy Valley.

The library looks even better from above.

While the sunsets on the ground can be pretty spectacular in Happy Valley, the views from above hold a special place in our hearts.

We hope you take this as a lesson to keep looking down…just from a higher place. You never know what you might see.
