State College Borough Announces Parking Changes Ahead Of Blue-White Practice Weekend

As the annual Blue-White Game Practice draws Nittany Lion fans to Happy Valley, the Borough of State College is adjusting parking regulations to help accommodate visitors.
Beginning at noon on Friday, April 24, the “no parking 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.” restriction, along with all one-and two-hour parking limits, will be temporarily lifted throughout the borough. These changes will remain in effect until 2 a.m. on Monday, April 27.
Lawn parking will remain strictly prohibited. Event rates will also be in effect for all municipal lots, garages, and on-street meters. Standard enforcement hours will apply from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
While some restrictions are being relaxed, violations of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code will be strictly enforced, meaning you’ll still need to brush up on your parallel parking skills. Violations that could result in a ticket or a tow include:
- Parking on sidewalks, intersections, or crosswalks
- Parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection
- Parking within 30 feet of a stop sign
- Parking more than 12 inches from the curb
- Parking against traffic
- Parking in front of driveways
- Parking anytime in restricted areas
In short: park smart or risk a pricey surprise.

Blue-White Weekend is one of the most celebrated spring traditions at Penn State. Make sure your car doesn’t become part of the festivities for the wrong reasons.
